Description
In 2005, an unidentified Ukrainian newspaper published an interview by Yuliana Kandia introducing the group Dessert (Десерт) and its members Uliana Latyk and Mariana Krylyk. The article presents the group at an early stage of its career, when Dessert was rapidly gaining recognition in the Ukrainian media space.
In the interview, Uliana Latyk discusses her previous artistic experience and recalls winning first places at Ukrainian music competitions and festivals including Moloda Halychyna, Pisennyi Vernisazh, Na Khvyliakh Svitiazia, and Chornomorski Ihry, among others. The publication also documents her participation in Martyn Choir (Мартин хор).
The interview discusses the formation of Dessert and records that the group was initially called Karamel (Карамель) before adopting the name Dessert (Десерт). At the time of the interview, the group was recording its fifth song with Kyiv-based composer and arranger Serhii Hrachov.
Today, this publication remains an important archival source documenting the period of Uliana Latyk's artistic career as a member of the group Dessert before adopting the stage name Ana Danch.
